This December, let’s slow down…
The end of the year always seems to arrive in a rush. Deadlines to finish, plans to wrap up, celebrations to prepare for—and somehow the to-do lists only grow longer.
And then there’s the quiet pressure to look back on the year… to measure what we did, didn’t do, or wish we had done differently.
In the swirl of festive chaos, it’s so easy to lose sight of what actually matters.
So every December, I make a conscious effort to stay grounded. I turn toward my art practice, toward the people I love, and toward the small things that help me breathe a little deeper. It’s my way of reminding myself what’s truly important.
And I know I’m not the only one who needs that.
If you’d like to join me, maybe we can carve out a little moment each day—just for ourselves. A pause to soften the noise, to step away from tasks and expectations, and to gently reset.
Let’s unwind, reconnect with ourselves, and let art be the space where we recharge.
Care December is back—15 days of mindful, intuitive mixed-media art journaling to gently close out the year.
This FREE offering is your permission slip to slow down, create with intention, and carve out a little more space for self-expression during the busiest month of the year.
By joining, you’ll receive a small creative treat each day:
- a short, inspiring video prompt from Kasia Avery
- a time-lapse clip of an intuitive art journaling process to spark your own ideas
Each prompt is an open invitation—something to guide you, not confine you. Use them as a springboard, then explore freely in your journal and make the practice entirely your own.
Everyone is welcome.
No special supplies needed—just whatever you already have at home.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced maker, come join us. Let’s gather, create, and end the year with 15 days of art that feels grounding, nourishing, and truly yours.
Care December, a free, holistic offering open to absolutely anyone...
We'll be creating a junk journal from scratch together and filling it with mixed-media art that expresses your authentic artistic voice. You are also free to use a ready-made sketchbook, journal or notebook.
We're tackling the real self-care, so no bath bombs and home spa - instead we'll be digging deep and improving the relationship we have with ourselves, and learning to nourish our mental health through art journaling.
We're caring for our most precious relationships with others through the prompts in this offering, plus if you wish, sending loving care to others by contributing to the fundraiser.
And we'll be exploring a new theme, the Green Edition, which ties all of the prompts in together and will be inspiring our processes.
Our Care December Host
My name is Kasia Avery and I want you to make some art with me! I'm an intuitive artist and teacher and the author of Creative Wanderlust. Together with my husband Jamie I founded Everything Art Ltd in 2015.
"Art that's not realistic is not art" - ever thought that? Because I certainly have. I was literally sweating and stressing my days away when striving to become that "proper" artist, painting landscapes in oil - something that was not me in the slightest. And then one day I discovered art journaling and I was hooked. The glitter fell from the sky and I knew I was saved. I learnt that real art is self-expression, a story, and an honest experience. I discovered that the process can (and should be!) pleasant and joyful rather than a constant struggle. Since then I am constantly art journaling, (daily!) and I want you to dive in with me.
Care December 2025 Fundraiser
supporting Aquabox
*This course is free and everyone can join, but as with previous years of this offering, we ask you to donate to our Charity Fundraiser.
This year we have chosen to keep supporting Aquabox - Clean Water In a Crisis. Based in Wirksworth where Jamie and I started Everything Art and our family, we wanted to choose the charity that was particularly close to our hearts and who are, as we know, extremely transparent and with great ethics.
Aquabox provides safe drinking water and humanitarian aid to people affected by natural disasters, extreme weather and conflicts
Millions of people around the world don’t have access to clean water for drinking, cooking or washing. A single Aquabox family filter can convert up to half a million litres of polluted water into safe, clean water – and give some of those desperate people the hope of a better life. The effects of natural disasters, conflict etc can affect anyone and this
You can donate from anywhere in the world, whatever your currency. The Fundraiser shows the sum in GBP, if you donate in a different currency it will be automatically converted and added to the pot.
Here's the thing: Christmas is coming, but not for everyone. There are people who need our help and there's no better moment to give them support than in December. Let's send those in need a big, virtual hug. Whatever you can contribute counts, even just $5.
Please click here to donate and then come back to this website and enrol yourself in this Care December offering. Let's make this fundraiser sack huge! Let's see how much we can raise through our love for art journaling. Share this website with others so they can contribute too!
If you feel like this year you're in need yourself and you can't contribute to the fundraiser, enrol in Care December for free anyway. We will make you feel loved and supported and we'll also make sure that you enter the New Year with a sense of calm and peace. But please share our Fundraiser website with your friends and family.
