Here's your tool to keep your art journaling practice consistent, varied and interesting.
If you have already discovered what art journaling is, but you feel that you need that extra inspiration to keep your practice consistent, this is a perfect offering for you.
This is a collection of 100 prompts, guidelines and additional videos to keep you inspired and focused. The prompts and guidelines will be released on a daily basis, starting with the first one available as soon as you enroll.
- Each prompt will be a new subject to work with, something to ponder on and base your art journal page/spread around on that day.
- This will always come together with a guideline, which will be a technique or a way of working, to push you a little bit out of your comfort zone.
- Every five days you will also receive a short process video from Kasia, to give you that extra push and inspiration to work in your art journal.
- NOW with an added BONUS of 100 self-care prompts. One for each day of this offering.
Prompts and guidelines together will help you overcome the fear of a blank page. They will answer not only the question what should you art journal about?, but also how to do it?, while at the same time staying open for interpretation so you can adjust to your way of working. This limitation can work wonders on your art practice, making it richer, more intuitive and keeping it interesting so you want to go to your workspace as soon as you have a spare minute.
Prompts and guidelines are released on a daily basis which ensures that you don't go down the rabbit hole of too many subjects to choose from. Kasia and Jamie have created and carefully picked the inspirations for you. Kasia also made sure that they will gradually turn more challenging, pushing you out of your comfort zone just that little bit more.
Each of the prompts is assigned to one of the groups: mindfulness, self-discovery, intuitive, memories, gratefulness, imagination and aspirations. This will allow you to build a collection of spreads which explore the subjects close to your heart. You will create a very personal art diary.
100 Small Steps is not for beginners - there are no lessons or instructions on supplies and techniques. This is for you if you already know what art journaling is, know a thing or two about your tools, but aren't sure how to take it further, what to art journal about and how to find subjects for your daily spreads. Guidelines will also help you overcome the fear of the first step - here you'll be told exactly which technique/tool to reach out for.
Here's an example prompt and a guideline, this is how they are going to look:
NOW with an added BONUS of 100 self-care prompts. One for each day of this offering.
- Prompt: {mindfulness} Close your eyes and sit still. Pay attention to the sounds that you hear, even if they are very quiet. Focus your mind on just that for a moment. Open your eyes, write down what you've heard - this and the sense of hearing is the subject of your page. Keep the sounds in your mind while you work.
- Guideline: Grab a big fat marker (any colour), close your eyes and make a few marks/shapes on your page. They are now your starting point. Start filling them in with colour, doodles, words, collage while you keep the sounds (from the prompt) in your head.
- BONUS self-care prompt: Make a list of all your favourite small pleasures. Silly little things that always make you smile. Write them on separate pieces of paper, toss into a jar/box and reach for one (or more) whenever you feel you need comfort/support/a pick me up.
All prompts and guidelines will vary, there will be no repetition and they will keep you creatively stimulated in many ways.
The offering is called 100 Small Steps because we strongly believe in the approach of small steps when you want to reach a big goal.
Your big goal may be
- developing your own style,
- finding your signature technique,
- becoming recognisable,
- creating space in your life for self-care through art
...all of these will become reachable thanks to the consistent art journaling practice.
The offering has been created with people who art journal daily in mind. If your way of working is less intense, (maybe you do art journaling only once a week?) this offering will work for you as well. It will simply last you longer!

"Together with my husband Jamie I am a founder of Everything Art. Capturing the moments and sensations is everything to me - my language is art. I paint, collage and art journal to figure out my past, my present and future. I scribble, spill, tear, paint and write to let the emotions out. I ask questions and work out my answers through colour, texture, patterns and dynamic connections between contradictions. I'm allowing myself to put together rough and smooth, bold and subtle, quiet and noisy. I teach mixed-media in-person and online since 2011 and everyday I'm grateful for this opportunity to have my dream job."
