A taste of what you'll create
45 lessons across mixed media, collage, painting, drawing, and beyond — each one a doorway into your own creative voice.
What is Wanderlust?
Wanderlust is an art journaling experience unlike anything else. It's not about making pretty pictures for Instagram. It's about building a personal creative practice that becomes a part of your life — a place where you can breathe, explore, and feel like yourself again.
Art journaling is the practice of combining visual art with personal reflection inside a journal or sketchbook. You might paint, collage, draw, stamp, stencil, write, or layer — there are no rules and no wrong answers. Your art journal is your private space to experiment, to play, and to process.
Every lesson in Wanderlust is designed to meet you exactly where you are. Whether you've never picked up a paintbrush or you've been making art for decades, these teachers will show you techniques that unlock something deeper — a connection to yourself through the act of creating.
This is art as self-care. This is creativity without pressure. This is Wanderlust.
What makes the Personal Practice Edition different?
Previously known as Wanderlust 2025, this edition has been renamed to reflect its timeless focus on building your own creative practice. Same incredible course, same 31 teachers — just a name that better captures what it’s really about.
Every edition of Wanderlust has a theme, and the Personal Practice Edition is all about learning how you work — building creative rhythms and developing your own personal visual language.
This isn't about copying what a teacher makes. It's about discovering what you want to say through your art — and then finding the confidence to say it. Across the four seasons, you'll move from finding your footing to making bold creative leaps, building a practice that is uniquely and unmistakably yours.
The teachers in this edition were chosen because they each bring a deeply personal approach to art journaling. They don't just teach techniques — they share how art has shaped their lives, and they invite you to let it shape yours too.
Four seasons, one transformative journey
Wanderlust unfolds across four seasons, each building on the last — taking you from your very first mark to a creative practice that feels like home.
New Beginnings
Start fresh. Learn foundational techniques, get comfortable with your materials, and give yourself permission to play without expectations.
You
Turn inward. Explore self-expression through art journaling, develop your unique visual language, and begin to trust your creative instincts.
Storytelling
Find your voice. Learn to tell stories through your art journal — stories of your life, your dreams, and the moments that matter most to you.
Leaps & Bounds
Take flight. Push your creative boundaries, experiment with bold techniques, and discover just how far your art practice can take you.
Every lesson centres on one Hero Technique
Each of the 45 lessons is built around a single Hero Technique — one core skill or approach that becomes the heart of your art journal page. This means you're never overwhelmed. You focus on one idea at a time, explore it fully, and then carry it forward into your growing practice.
From intuitive painting and collage layering to mark-making and mixed-media storytelling, every Hero Technique is something you can return to again and again — long after the lesson is over.
“Wanderlust has made me so love working in the art journal. Learning so many different things from so many different artists is truly, truly amazing.”
“Wanderlust has become a vital virtual safe space for my art and creative practice.”
“Not only has Wanderlust improved my art practice, it also improves my mental health.”
31 artists, 31 different voices
What makes Wanderlust unlike any other art course is the variety. Every teacher brings a completely different style, a different set of techniques, and a different perspective on what art can mean in your life. You won't learn one way of working — you'll discover dozens, and through them, you'll find your own.

Kasia Avery
The course is led by its founder — Kasia Avery. A mixed-media artist, teacher, and the creator of Everything Art, Kasia has been building and hosting Wanderlust for over ten years, guiding thousands of students through their creative journeys.
Before Everything Art moved online, Kasia spent years teaching in person — running workshops, retreats, and creative gatherings where she learned first-hand what helps people find confidence in their art. That hands-on experience shapes every part of Wanderlust, from the way lessons are structured to the warmth and encouragement woven through each season.
As your host, Kasia guides you through all four seasons — introducing each teacher, setting the creative tone for every chapter, and helping you build the personal practice at the heart of this course. She’s there at the start, at the end, and at every turn in between.
