Integrate poetry into your journalling
We all have a million stories to tell, even if you think you're life can be uneventful at times, I promise you there's little treasures hidden in every day.
Little glimpses of beauty - gifts that we can see and appreciate if we open our eyes and hearts to them. There are stories of our childhood, memories and times, which are all too vulnerable to getting lost and forgotten.
And I know a perfect way to process, capture and immortalise them through beauty of imperfect poetry, creative marks and collage.
In this lesson I will show you how to make a little poetry book, full with:
- Sentimental objects
- Ephemera
- Collage papers
- But most importantly, your very own, very special poem
You can then use this skill of poetry book making repeatedly, so that you can keep some for yourself and gift some to people you love!
Honour your special story
Forget about the pressure of writing! This lesson breaks poetry down into accessible steps, with the focus on expression, not perfectionism.
Follow my genuine process of creating a mini book, merging words and aesthetic techniques to cherish the freedom of creation.
Take sentimental materials you already have, and incorporate them into your poetry book - making them into something even more special.
The other beautiful thing is these books and poems can be as small and simple or big and complex as what suits you.
"On winter nights when it's really cold outside I go out and watch the stars. It feels like the sky stretches out on nights like that, until all you see is sky and stars and your breath that curls around you like smoke. Over here it rarely gets below -40°C (-50°F) but when temperatures drop below -50°C (-58°F) you can hear a sound like rice being dropped on a floor, from when your breath freezes to icecrystals mid-air.
The people of eastern Sibiria calls this "the Wisper of the Stars". It's more poetry in that expression than anything I could ever write.
Loved this challenge, Kasia. 💕 Words are so closely intertwined with my art. Might write another few poems for the fun of it."

"I decided to watch this again ( can’t sleep). Kasia you make me smile! “We are here to have fun” ... “ just do it”. Thank you!
“just let it be “ love you and this process is excellent for many reasons ... your vulnerability helps us open up.
I love your poem. 'Wherever I go I will be on my own. I will be a little lonely.'

Xoxo"
