Teresa McFayden

Stacks Image 171
Mixed media painting is my chosen method of play and discovery. I use acrylics, graphite and watercolor to create stories, attitudes and whimsical characters on canvas or paper. My paintings, in their shallow spaces, are often childlike renderings of animals, flowers, and rough-edged splotches of color evoking early 19th century primitive art.Yet, there is symbolic allusiveness, color tension, playfulness of spirit, and poise that make my pieces contemporary.
Painting is my first love, but I studied education at The University of Nebraska Omaha, and enjoy teaching others to find and use their creative spirit. While I am most comfortable with a cloudy jar of water and paint splashing at my side, I have an everlasting love of the humble pencil and journal and sketch every day.
Much of my work has appeared in Somerset Studio Publications; Somerset Studio, Somerset Apprentice, Artful Blogging, Craft a Doodle, Where Women Create Magazine and Book. You can find more of my work at Blue Pomegranate Art Gallery, Omaha and in the Fall of 2015 at Blue Pomegranate Art Gallery, Dallas,TX.
I live in Omaha, Nebraska with my family (who I am often inspired by).

Mystele

All the play- filled paths I've followed since 2008 have led me to my own way of painting and seeing that I call "gut art".

Upon closer inspection, you can see playful layer upon layer of story-telling in the backgrounds, and it's these layers that eventually yield the quirk- ily beautiful characters and scenes that make you stop long enough to smile, to think, to remember, to laugh, to feel life in all of its bitter-sweetness, and to take heart in the midst of it all.
My prayer is that the art that comes out of my life will encourage you to THRIVE.

Andy Skinner

Stacks Image 285
Andy Skinner is an established mixed media artist and tutor who teaches regular workshops all over the world. Andy is an accomplished painter and ceramicist but is best known for his ‘industrial gothic’ altered art and assemblage pieces. Since giving up his successful ceramics business, Andy has immersed himself in the mixed media world he loves. He works as Executive Creative Consultant for DecoArt Inc, using his expertise to develop their innovative Media line of products, and is also a product designer for Stampendous and Tando Creative.

Finnabair - Anna Dabrowska

My name is Anna Dabrowska, also known as Finnabair. I was born in
Warsaw, Poland, now I live in Ireland with my husband, Andrzej and my
pets.
I'm a woman of many interests: a mixed media artist, art journaler
and designer who loves new challenges, experiments and developing new
techniques and skills. I've been creating since 2007, started
scrapbooking in 2008-2009 and mixed-media in 2009 when I got totally
addicted.
My projects are texture and art medium-based: I make paper and canvas
layouts, collages and altered art, tags, journal pages – and many
more. I believe in power of recycling and upcycling and just adore
texture, paints of any kind and flea market supplies. Freedom,
embracing creativity and being true to your inner voice is my main
source of inspiration and creative energy.

Jennifer Lee

Stacks Image 568
Jenndalyn Art was a concept born in the most unlikely of places in 2011: in my tiny office at a medical company. After double majoring in Fine Art and History of Art at The Ohio State University, I bounced around between bartending jobs for a few years before taking a “real job” 2010.
Taking that job turned out to be life-altering for me, and not in the way that I originally thought. I was incredibly unhappy, and for the first time started to think long-term about what I wanted to do with my life. I had what everyone said you were supposed to want: a salary, benefits, and weekends off. Yet I was miserable. After two and a half years of 8+ hours a day chained to a desk, painful commutes, and zero opportunity to let my creativity breathe, I left my job in order to pursue my one true love: art.
My style is vibrant, busy, colorful, and bohemian. I am inspired by connectivity: the thought that we are made of the same things as the stars. I'm inspired by tiny miracles that surround us every day: the way the wind sounds when it blows through the trees, the smell of the air after it rains, sunsets, the changing seasons. I love to travel, explore the woods, and am a total cat lady. All of these things are reflected in my work.

Natalie Kalbach

Stacks Image 624
Nathalie Kalbach is a self-taught mixed media artist. She was born in Germany and lived most of her adult life in Hamburg before moving to the United States in September 2013. She now lives in Jersey City, NJ.

Nathalie's early love of paint was squelched by an art teacher who told her she had no talent. She worked as a paralegal for seventeen years and might have remained in the wrong profession had she not discovered mixed media painting in 2004.
Nathalie regained confidence in her creativity and has spent the last decade exploring the possibilities of creating dimension and texture by layering different materials and paint media. She worked in art journals and on canvases, incorporating collage and found objects. Her projects have been published in several craft and hobby magazines as well as mixed media books. Nathalie has taught at many retail events and art retreats, as well as at trade shows, and by 2011 she was able to give up working as a paralegal to become a full-time artist.

Nathalie believes that everyone can be creative. Since 2006 she taught workshops in Europe, Canada, the U.S., Australia, Israel, Malaysia and online. She shares what she knows about tools, supplies and techniques, with the goal of helping each student unlock his/her personal creativity.
Nat's artwork is licensed through StencilGirl Products (stencils) and Stampendous (rubber stamp and template sets). Her work has been featured on the packaging for Liquitex Acrylic Painting Sets sold at Michaels art and craft stores. Since September 2014 she is a sponsored artist/brand ambassador for Liquitex. She is also a product development consultant to several art and craft supply manufacturers.

Susie La Fond

I am a self taught artist. I’ve always been a creatively active person. As a child I loved to color, glue stuff into notebooks, make up stories. I would tape pieces of paper together to create a bigger surface to work on and draw maps of imaginary places and structures. I day dreamed for hours at a time. Since all of my siblings were already out of the house by the time I came along; I was on my own a lot of the time which I feel fed my creativity. I was forced to entertain myself.
As an adult I’ve never lost that spark of imagination; that internal desire and drive to bring an idea to life. Over the years I have experimented with many different media and fallen in and out of love with them. I’ve embraced my artistic pursuits that I’ve come to understand not only expresses the art that comes from my hands but that also fills my heart and soul.
Fabric, collage, paint, art journals and journal making are the art I am drawn to create and pursue. I’m always willing to try new things and experiment but I always return to journal making and keeping.

France Papillon

My name is France, but I live in Belgium with my 2 kids, my 2 mares, dog and cat.
Though I started scrapbooking in 2001, I'm a full time mixed media artist since 2010. The mix of soft grunge, color and rusted or vintage embellishments are the main ingredients of my tags, books, altered art and art journaling.
To tell my story, I like to play with inky techniques, just like a writer juggling with words. In my classes and tutorials, these techniques allow me to offer a comfort zone to the participants, while guiding them to tell their own story, to reveal their own creativity.
Being on the design teams of Stampotique, PanPastel BNL and Mixed Media Place and being Brand Ambassador for the Finnabair brand and for ColourArte, I enjoy sharing all things artsy with the people around me.
Sharing is such an important part of art to me, that teaching classes doesn't feel like enough. So in November 2011, I started a video series on YouTube called 'Journal on Monday'. We celebrated the 100th episode in August 2014 and till this day, a new video is added on a regular basis.
As my artistic occupation was growing (teaching classes, making kits, demoing), I started an art association with two artsy friends (a painter and a sculptor) in February 2012: Arts PH asbl.

In February 2013, I designed my very first stamp collection for Stampotique. My fifth stamp collection hit the shelfs in February 2015. Since July 2015, I also have my own Primary Elements pigments color kits with ColourArte.

my narrative: in general my work is about bringing something into the world that enhances and elevates the environment in which it lives. Much like magical charms and spells of intention that give voice to our inner makers/magicians and collective histories.

Born & raised in New York, she escaped to the mountain desert for a moment in time and has since returned to the sea shore. She ran a not for profit visual art center for kids for over 12 years and has taught mixed media art workshops throughout North America.
When not creating, you can usually find her & her 2 little ones hunting for seashells and buried treasures. the last name? it’s pronounced (me-shell)
